The Patriot PAC-3 has received a major upgrade: the latest LTAMDS radar has been integrated into the system
The latest Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) radar from Raytheon Technologies has been successfully integrated into the Patriot PAC-3 air defense system.
This was reported by Lockheed Martin on its website.
The latest LTAMDS radar is reportedly a key component of the US Army’s modernized air and missile defense strategy.
During tests at the White Sands Missile Range, the PAC-3 received data from LTAMDS to engage targets.
This test demonstrates that the PAC-3 can maintain its proven hit-and-kill intercept performance in conjunction with the LTAMDS radar.

“Today’s test is another example of how Lockheed Martin is developing modernized air and missile defenses for 21st century security,” said Brenda Davidson, vice president of PAC-3 programs at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
Davidson added that the integration of the new radar will help the system stay ahead of future threats.
