On the night of August 23, Moscow was again attacked by drones. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on his Telegram page.
According to him, one of the UAVs crashed into a building in Moscow City.
“Last night, air defense shot down a drone in the Mozhaisky district of Moscow region. The second UAV hit a building under construction in the City. Emergency services have arrived at the scene. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties,” he wrote.
Later, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Russian capital was attacked by three drones at once. They said that two of them were allegedly shot down by air defense systems. The third one was hit by an electronic warfare system and crashed into a skyscraper.
“Two of the UAVs that attacked the capital were destroyed by air defense systems in the air over the territory of the Mozhaisky and Khimki districts of Moscow region. The third UAV was suppressed by electronic warfare and, having lost control, collided with a building under construction in the Moscow City complex,” the statement said.
The agency of the aggressor country accused Ukraine of launching the drones.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, after the explosion, Moscow airports were put under the Carpet Plan, but at the time of writing, they have resumed operations. In addition, the wreckage of the UAV was spotted on a street in the village of Starbeevo near Moscow. The wall of the store was damaged. In Khimki, on Ninth of May Street, a residential building has its windows smashed.
It is also reported that the blast wave smashed windows in the apartments of a multi-storey building on Antonova-Ovsiyenko Street. This is about 100 meters from the site of the UAV explosion in Moscow City.
