SpaceX and the US Space Force have decided to launch the secret X-37B spaceplane. The Space Force announced in an email newsletter that final preparations are underway for the launch of the unmanned spacecraft on the evening of December 10.
The spacecraft is scheduled to launch on a Falcon Heavy rocket from a pad at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida during a 10-minute window that opens at 20:14 p.m. ET on December 10, 2023 (December 11 at 03:14 a.m. Kyiv time).
This is to be the seventh flight within the X-37B project. It is believed that the US military has two X-37B aircraft at its disposal and has flown a total of six missions, each of which was longer and more ambitious than the last. The sixth test flight lasted 908 days, with takeoff on May 17, 2020, and landing on November 12, 2022. It is not yet clear how long the upcoming flight will last.
