The seventh package of anti-Russian sanctions can be presented within a week – mass media
The European Union may present the seventh package of anti-Russian sanctions within a week. The new rules should close the old loopholes.
This is reported by EURACTIV. According to the publication, the preparation of the seventh package of sanctions will take place on July 14 and 15, and the member states can approve it by July 20.
This package will ban the import of Russian gold, and should also close loopholes not provided for in earlier packages by expanding the list of prohibited goods for export to the Russian Federation. The package also introduces new personal sanctions against individuals and legal entities associated with Putin’s wider entourage.
Earlier it became known that the EU plans to present the seventh package of sanctions against the Russian Federation in the coming weeks. The new package may include restrictions on gold imports, measures to correct previous sanctions and further lists of individuals and entities.
Subsequently, it became known that the seventh package of sanctions will not include the refusal of Russian gas, since it will not be possible to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian gas this winter.
