Also, during the last day, the soldiers of the Armed Forces managed to improve their positions in the Kherson direction.

During the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv direction, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated more than 20 villages and towns from the Russian invaders. This was announced by the head of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff, Oleksiy Gromov, during an online briefing on Thursday, September 8. According to him, the Ukrainian military wedged itself into the depth of the enemy’s defense at a distance of up to 50 km.

“During active actions in the Kharkiv direction, 20 settlements were liberated,” – Gromov said.

He added that filtering operations are still taking place in the liberated territories.

In addition, in the Kherson direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine improved their tactical position and advanced to a depth of 2 km.

“As part of the defense operation in the Kharkiv direction with the aim of restoring the lost territories, since the beginning of the week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with units of the National Guard of Ukraine and other units of the security and defense forces, have been conducting active actions in certain areas,” – Gromov summarized.

We will remind you that units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced deep into the enemy’s defenses during the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv direction. According to analysts, the Armed Forces took advantage of the moment when the command of the Russian Armed Forces decided to redistribute the main forces and sent its units to the Kherson direction, expecting a counteroffensive in the south of Ukraine.

In addition, on September 6, information appeared in the mass media that fierce battles are taking place in the north of the Kharkiv region, during which units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are trying to push the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to the state border.
