The United States has granted Ukrainians temporary protection status for 18 months
The United States has granted Ukrainians Temporary Protected Status (TPS) in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.
According to him, the decision has been entered in the federal register and will be made public and registered on April 19.
“We have done important work. The Temporary Protected Status announced in early March for Ukrainian citizens who were physically in the United States has been officially introduced as of today,” – Yermak said on Facebook.
This decision allows Ukrainians who were physically in the United States as of April 11 to stay in the country for 18 months, even with expired visas. They will also have the opportunity to apply for a work permit.
