The United States has liquidated the Russian hacking network RSOCKS

Cybercriminals hacked private accounts on social networks, as well as attacked the resources of large public and private organizations in many countries around the world.

The United States, along with international partners, has eliminated the Russian hacking network RSOCKS, which hacked millions of computers around the world through malicious Internet activity. This was reported in the US Department of Justice.

According to the agency, in addition to the United States, the operation, which began in 2017, involved specialists from Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. According to the Ministry of Justice, millions of computer users around the world have fallen victim to RSOCKS.

‘As a result of this operation, the work of an extremely complex Russian cybercrime organization, which was engaged in cyber-hacking in the United States and abroad, was liquidated. Users of this type of proxy service have carried out large-scale attacks on authentication services and anonymized themselves when accessing hacked social media accounts or sending malicious e-mail, such as phishing,’ – said US spokeswoman Stacey Moy.

She also said that RSOCKS users paid between $ 30 and $ 200 a day for malicious Internet activity through hacked devices in order to disguise or hide a real source of traffic.
