The US Embassy in Moscow recommends that Americans leave Russia immediately. This is stated on the website of the embassy.
‘US citizens should not travel to Russia. And those who live or travel in Russia should leave Russia immediately, while there are still limited opportunities for commercial travel,’ the message reads.
It is noted that persons with dual citizenship of the Russian Federation and the USA may be called up for military service as part of partial mobilization, so for such citizens, departure from Russia may be limited.
‘If you want to leave Russia, you need to prepare yourself for departure as soon as possible. The U.S. Embassy’s ability to provide assistance to U.S. citizens and conditions, including the availability of transportation, may unexpectedly become even more limited,’ the embassy added.
Earlier, the US Embassy in Ukraine urged Americans to leave Ukraine.
