The US will not block the transfer of F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters to Ukraine by other countries

In February, the allies may for the first time announce the provision of Western-style aircraft to Ukraine. It is about fourth-generation F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters.

CNN reports that the position of the United States regarding sending General Dynamics aircraft to Ukraine has changed. Previously, the American authorities believed that the provision of fighter jets to Ukraine could lead to escalation. Now everything rests on logistics and pilot training.

President Joe Biden (Joe Biden) said that the USA will not provide its planes to Ukraine. Such a decision of the head of the White House was met with skepticism in the US Department of Defense. At the same time, Washington will not interfere with other countries if they want to transfer their fourth-generation fighters to Ukraine.

Currently, two European states have expressed such a desire. These are Poland and the Netherlands. Both countries are members of NATO.

The United States considers the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine an expensive process that is not worth it at this stage of the war. Currently, the priority for the US is to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with missiles, artillery and air defense systems. Note that the other day, America for the first time officially announced the transfer of projectiles for HIMARS, which can hit targets at a distance of up to 150 km, which is almost twice as far as the GMLRS.
