The US will provide Ukraine with sensors that will allow missiles to defeat Russian electronic warfare
The United States has purchased sensors for Ukraine that will equip Ukraine’s JDAM-ER bombs, which will allow them to defeat electronic warfare systems.
This is stated on the website of the US Department of Defense
The Home-on GPS sensors that will be installed on JDAM-ER bombs will give the Ukrainian military more chances to resist the occupier. The sensors, manufactured by Scientific Applications and Research Associates, will enable the bombs to accurately target EW targets, making strikes much more effective and accurate.
This step by the United States is a response to the challenges faced by the Ukrainian military in the face of the growing threat from Russian electronic warfare systems. For example, as previously reported, Western precision-guided munitions suffer from Russian GPS jamming systems.
The Home-on GPS system should allow Ukrainian JDAM-ERs to target GPS jammers.
