The US will transfer another Patriot system to Ukraine

The United States will provide Ukraine with another Patriot missile system.

US to send Patriot system to Ukraine

Two American officials confirmed the information about the transfer of the SAM on condition of anonymity. According to them, U.S. President Joe Biden approved the move.

This will be the second Patriot system that the United States will transfer to Ukraine. However, the exact number of missiles for this system has not been announced.

Ukraine to receive 100 missiles for Patriot from Germany and allies

This was announced on June 11 during a visit to the 21st Missile Group of the German Air Defense Forces by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

The head of the German Defense Ministry noted that he had recently visited Odesa, where he saw the consequences of Russian troops’ attacks on the city, and announced a new military aid package.

And especially after seeing how critical Ukraine’s air defense is to its survival, today I am pleased to announce the delivery of a significant number of Patriot interceptors – one hundred.

According to him, we are talking about 100 missiles that are being transferred as part of the German Immediate Action Initiative for Air Defense together with Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway.

At the same time, Pistorius clarified that 32 guided missiles have already been delivered to Ukraine over the past few days. Another 68 missiles will arrive in the coming weeks. The German defense minister noted that these missiles will enable Ukrainian forces to protect infrastructure and lives.
