The war completely destroyed the Ukrainian car market
During the first month of the war, Ukrainians imported and registered 8.3 thousand cars with mileage. According to Ukravtoprom, this is 15 times less than in March 2021. In percentage terms, the decline was 76%. Not the best situation in the primary market – only 546 cars, 16.5 times less than a year earlier.
Most often last month, Ukrainians registered an old Volkswagen Golf – 484 units. In second place – Renault Megane. During March 472 cars of this model received Ukrainian registration. The third line in the March “top five” of the most popular cars with mileage for the Volkswagen Passat – 422 units. Also in the TOP-5 are: Škoda Octavia – 399 units. And Ford Focus – 217 units.
In total, since the beginning of 2022, almost 69,000 cars with mileage have received their first Ukrainian marks, almost 6 times more than new ones. According to the association, during the first quarter of registration of new “cars” amounted to 11.2 thousand units, 47% more than in the same three months of 2021.
