The wreckage fell on a high-rise building: the occupiers “lit up” the remains of a lost Su-24M bomber

In one of the reports from the temporarily occupied Soledar, the Russian occupiers showed a destroyed Su-24M bomber.

This was reported by OSINT analyst Necro Mancer in X (formerly Twitter).

In the temporarily occupied Soledar, Russian military correspondents showed the wreckage of the plane with the tail number RF-92025. He fell on a high-rise building. However, the occupiers did not name the circumstances of the loss of the frontline bomber. Therefore, it is difficult to say whether the Su-24M belonged to the Wagner PMC or was in the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Wreckage of a Russian Su-24M aircraft

Militarnyi speculates that the Russian bomber could have been shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces or a man-portable air defense system during the defense of Soledar. It is also possible that the Su-24M crashed on its own due to a technical malfunction. The bomber with the number RF-92025 belonged to the 37th Mixed Aviation Regiment in the temporarily occupied Crimea at the Hvardiyske airfield. The regiment was established in 2014 and has two squadrons of Su-24M and Su-25SM attack aircraft.

According to the Oryx project, Russian troops have lost 12 Su-24 aircraft of various modifications since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Almost all of them were destroyed.
