According to Russian journalists, more than 100 volunteers are allegedly trying to penetrate deep into Russian territory. The RDC notes that all efforts at this stage are focused on reconnaissance.
Soldiers of the “Russian Volunteer Corps” are trying to cross the border near the Urazovo-Verigovka section of the Belgorod region of Russia. This was reported by a number of Russian media on June 2.
One of the Russian military commanders stated that more than 100 RKK fighters were spotted in the area. A fight with Russian border guards allegedly broke out.
“According to intelligence, up to a battalion is involved in the attack… a battle is underway,” the statement said.
Russia denied the breakthrough of the RDC
According to RIA Novosti, the operational headquarters of the Belgorod region called the information about the breakthrough of volunteers a fake.

Fighting in the Belgorod region
On Friday, June 2, the Russians reported another shelling of the Belgorod region, allegedly by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which resulted in civilian casualties. As a result of the attack, two women allegedly died of shrapnel wounds.
On June 2, volunteers from the Freedom of Russia Legion demonstrated their military equipment in the village of Nova Tavolzhanka, where fighting is currently underway. The settlement is located on the outskirts of the town of Shebekino, from where the authorities evacuated the local population.
A day earlier, on June 1, it became known that fighters from the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion had again broken through the Russian border and were fighting with the Russian Armed Forces.
On June 1, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported a strike on Shebekin, which damaged a dormitory on Lenin Street near the local administration building.
