TikTok adds text posts amid Twitter rebranding
TikTok now allows you to share text posts with backgrounds, music, and stickers, similar to Stories on Instagram.
Text messages on TikTok are limited to 1000 characters, and you can add music, a background image, or stickers to them. You can edit and interact with other videos by creating duets and comments.
For TikTok, which specializes in short videos, this transformation is quite strange, but it is likely that the social network also targeted the audience of the updated Twitter, just like Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, and others.
Zuckerberg’s social network Threads seemed to be well received at the beginning (100 million people registered in the first 5 days after the launch), but now the number of active users of the program has fallen sharply – by 70%, according to Forbes.
TikTok now has just over a billion followers, while Instagram, which runs Threads, is used by 2.3 billion people.
Earlier, the app with short videos was criticized for its ties to China, and the governments of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia restricted the use of the app on government devices.
