Turkey’s Roketsan unveils new high-precision ÇAKIR missile with a range of over 150 km
Roketsan Group (Turkey) has started mass production of a new generation cruise missile ÇAKIR. The new aircraft is compact (it weighs 270 kg, is 3.3 m long and has a fuselage diameter of 27 cm). These parameters make the development of Turkish engineers one of the lightest and most convenient for transportation of cruise missiles in its class.
ÇAKIR’s performance has been significantly increased by the use of a Turkish-made KTJ-1750 turbine, which can engage targets at ranges of over 150 km. An efficient air intake system located in the lower plane of the product plays a key role in achieving this performance.
One of the key advantages of ÇAKIR is its modular form factor, which makes it possible to launch the missile from a variety of platforms, ranging from ground-based installations and aircraft to ships and drones.
ÇAKIR is equipped with a 70-kilogram thermobaric explosive that provides high destructive power. The enhanced targeting system, which combines infrared imaging with radio frequency, has improved the accuracy of target engagement.
When creating the fuselage, Turkish specialists used radio-absorbing materials to make it difficult for enemy radars to detect the new product. The missile boasts advanced guidance systems capable of receiving additional target information during flight. The interference-resistant GNSS technology, combined with radar and barometric altimeters, ensures precise navigation and high reliability in all conditions.
