Ukraine develops powerful robotic evacuation kit “Ant” (photo)
A ground robotic complex “Murakha” has been developed for the military in Ternopil region.
Ihor Tchaikovsky, head of the Robotic Complexes project, told Suspilne about this.
According to him, the remote-controlled vehicle can cover a distance of 15 kilometers or more. The Murakha complex consists of 80% Ukrainian-made parts.
“After the Murakha robotic complex, the next one will be smaller. This is the Minion complex, it is 4 times smaller and more compact,” the developers said.
The Murakha complex was designed to remotely transport soldiers from the battlefield, deliver water, food or other supplies.
It was named so because it weighs 350 kilograms but can carry a ton of cargo.
“This is a fairly powerful evacuation unit. It runs on one or two electric batteries with a capacity of 6, 8 or 13.6 kW. Such a system should be enough for about 30-40 kilometers. It will also be supplemented with radio communication and video surveillance systems,” says the project manager.
The complex has a “forward” and “reverse” function and a “turn in place” function in one direction and in the other. Muraha is charged from an outlet or generator.
One of the interesting engineering solutions is the sides of the gangway, which were developed and designed by Ukrainian engineers.
The sides can be easily converted into ladders so that the platform can be removed from the pickup truck or driven back onto the pickup truck.
The estimated cost of the full complex will be in the range of UAH 620-650 thousand, depending on additional equipment.
