Ukraine is being forced to capitulate to Russia: partially or completely

The events of recent months, weeks, and days indicate indirectly that Ukraine is being forced to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia. And the bad news is that they want to force us to accept Russia’s terms, that is, to capitulate, or at least to completely abandon the occupied territories and recognize Crimea as Russian.

Words like the above are very bad for both Ukraine and the West. Russia wants to freeze the war at all costs to regroup and then strike with renewed vigor. The Russians are using everything for this purpose. The situation at the front, the delay of aid and weapons, the political crisis in the United States (a significant part of the Kremlin’s plan), farmers’ protests in Europe and Poland, and much more.

After the Ukrainians withdrew from Avdiivka, the Russians launched a massive offensive along almost the entire front, sparing neither equipment nor manpower. At the same time, in the diplomatic arena, Kremlin bots became more active, spreading messages that it was necessary to negotiate with Russia and, with the help of agents in Western countries, began to pour information about the supposedly weak Ukraine into the right ears, and if we do not reach an agreement with Russia now, the wave of war will reach Europe. Some Western politicians are reacting aggressively and calling on everyone to provide Ukraine with any weapons and money, while others, such as the Pope, are calling on Ukraine to “raise the white flag.”

All of this is Russian propaganda and Russian money aimed at seizing the initiative and viewing the current situation on the frontlines as a “window of opportunity.” China has also stepped up to the plate.

According to Espreso, Chinese envoy Li Hui met with Lavrov’s representatives in Russia to discuss the “Ukrainian issue.” In the final information for the media, it was said that in Moscow, almost a quote: “China and Russia agreed that it is unacceptable to consider the issue of the Ukrainian dialogue without Russia’s participation. Even though this is no longer in the Chinese statement, it is in the Russian one. The publication emphasizes that this is in the Russian statement and not in the Chinese one, that all unilateral initiatives by both the West and Ukraine only complicate the situation and the road to a possible dialogue.

Surprisingly, at the same moment, starting on February 28, an article by two well-known experts in this field, Samuel Charap and Jeremy Shapiro, appeared in one of the most popular foreign policy publications, Foreign Affairs, on March 5. By the way, both are regular participants in the Valdai conference format, which is regularly held in Russia with Putin’s participation. They are also the authors of a well-known 2014 monograph called “The Ukrainian Crisis: Everybody Loses,” which contains several pages with the subtitle “The Path to Diplomacy or How to Start Negotiations Between Russia and Ukraine,” giving instructions on how both sides should act, what to do to, like, sit down at the negotiating table painlessly.

And this diplomatic artillery will increase its caliber in the coming months, and the reason for this is not that Ukrainian troops have left Avdiivka, because that’s how Beijing presents it, as the two authors above write. And the reason is that Russia is unable to develop these events, so it desperately needs a pause now to build up its strength.

To reinforce this point, Zelenskyy recently visited Ankara, where Turkish President Erdogan took the initiative to say that he would be happy to provide a platform for dialogue.

After the “talks” in Russia, Chinese envoy Li Hui met with some heads of departments in the European Parliament, where European representatives, in a rather aggressive manner, the source writes, made it very clear: if China continues to supply components for weapons such as cruise missiles, anti-aircraft guns, aircraft, and so on to Russia, the number of sanctions will increase. Li Hui’s position on behalf of China and the Chinese ambassador to the EU, who attended the meeting, was unequivocal: we are not sending lethal weapons to Russia, we are not adding fuel to the fire, we want to be constructive and add only Chinese wisdom to the need for dialogue.

The Europeans, of course, did not believe China, and pointed out that if the Chinese “continue in the same vein,” sanctions will not be far behind. Because China leaves the European Union with no other option but to increase sanctions and reduce trade with China because it is actually assisting Russia in the bombing of Ukraine. By the way, on Sunday, March 11, it became known that the Russians began shelling Ukrainian positions and border villages and towns with new high-powered bombs. This was reported by CNN.

The one-and-a-half-ton FAB-1500 is almost half made up of high explosives. They are dropped from fighter jets from a distance of about 60-70 kilometers, which Ukrainian air defense systems cannot reach. The bomb reaches its target with the help of a guidance system and retractable wings, the article says.

Next, the appearance of another piece on the “chessboard” on which Putin is placing huge bets – the Donald Trump. It’s no secret that all delays in the supply of weapons to Ukrainians, and aid in general, are blocked by the US Republican Party, and especially by the so-called “Trumpists” who are acting to please their boss, who owes a debt to Russia for the previous US election in which Trump defeated Clinton. Whether Trump will pay off the debt with Ukrainian territories and Ukrainians is a rhetorical question.

There are also opposing forecasts that everything that is happening in the United States now is Trump’s attempt to make Biden look bad. And after the victory, Trump will send everything to Ukraine that is necessary to break the Russians’ desire to attack anyone in the future. But Ukrainians, and conscious Europeans, are still inclined to the worst case scenario…

Europe is now more strongly in favor of Ukraine and its victory, but this is only the official side. Unfortunately, many Europeans want to give Ukraine to Russia, just to avoid a war in the European countries themselves. This usually comes from Germany, but, as it turned out, also from Poland, where protests against Ukrainians and everything Ukrainian have been going on for months. And it seems that Moscow’s intervention was not without significance.
