Ukraine is developing a “long Neptune” missile – Deputy Defense Minister

Ukraine’s military-industrial complex is currently developing a new missile modification for the Neptune system, called the “long Neptune.” This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk in an interview with ArmyInform.

Work is underway to create a so-called long Neptune. It is a new modification of the missile for the Neptune complex. We are also actively working with the Ministry of Strategic Industries to strengthen the air defense system.

Havryliuk did not provide any further details on this topic. Most likely, it is a modification of the R-360 missile of the Neptune complex, designed for ground targets. She is credited with destroying the S-400 air defense system near Cape Tarkhankut in occupied Crimea in late August. According to unofficial reports, the new version is likely to have a warhead weighing 350 kg that can be delivered over a distance of up to 400 km. The anti-ship version has more modest (but officially confirmed) specifications – 150 kg of warhead at a distance of up to 300 km.
