Ukraine is sending all powerful generators to the de-energized Odesa

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, instructed to send all the powerful generators that the Ministry of Energy has to Odesa, which was left without electricity due to the accident at the substation.

The generators must be delivered to the blackout city within 24 hours, the BBC writes.

‘A gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 25 MW, provided by our partners from the USA, should also be transported to the city. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also tasked to turn to Turkey for additional support in the form of power plant ships,’ the prime minister wrote in his Telegram channel.

A large-scale accident at the substation of NEC ‘Ukrenergo’ occurred on Saturday morning. According to Shmyhal, earlier this substation was repeatedly damaged as a result of Russian attacks.

According to the information of users of social networks, it is about the substation ‘Usatove’ on the outskirts of Odesa, where a severe fire broke out early on Saturday morning. According to the Odesa City Hall, the entire city and part of the Odesa district are temporarily without power.

There is currently no information about the cause of the incident.

The Prime Minister wrote that first of all, critical infrastructure facilities and multi-apartment buildings, which depend on electricity for heat supply, will be provided with energy.
