Ukraine launches production of long-range missiles with a range of over 640 km
Ukraine has launched the production of missiles with a range of over 640 kilometers. This was stated by the Minister of Strategic Industry of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshyn in an interview with The Washington Post.
In addition, our country has begun to develop air defense systems with high-precision missiles similar to the American and Norwegian NASAMS mobile air defense system. Mr. Kamyshyn did not provide any further details.
According to The Washington Post, Ukraine has production facilities and certain raw materials, but it was still difficult to establish operational arms production: after the collapse of the USSR, the defense industry in Ukraine virtually collapsed.
“Unfortunately, without the help of our Western partners, our friends, including those from the United States, we will not be able to fully meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Maksym Polyvianyi, Deputy Director General of Ukrainian Armor.
Today, March 20, the United States successfully tested a hypersonic weapon based in the Pacific Ocean. The United States is not the only one developing hypersonic weapons: Russia has launched hypersonic missiles at targets in Ukraine, and China has tested hypersonic weapons, although it denied it in October 2023.
