Ukraine may allow registration of cars with right-hand drive
Right-hand drive cars may be allowed to be registered only in units of the Armed Forces and other military formations.
A draft law has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada that would allow the registration of right-hand drive cars for the Armed Forces and other military units. Currently, according to the law, their registration is prohibited. This was reported in Telegram by Oleksiy Honcharenko, MP from the European Solidarity party.
“Volunteers have to import a lot of cars to help the Armed Forces. And in the UK, you can buy cars that will help our military a lot, but the steering wheel is located on the right side. Now there are about a hundred of such cars at the border, which are not allowed to pass, referring to the ban in the law,” the MP wrote.
That is why, according to Honcharenko, it is necessary to amend the current legislation and allow the registration of right-hand drive cars in the Armed Forces and other military formations for the period of martial law and for 90 days after its lifting.
