Ukraine showed the best result in history at the Invictus Games 2023
The Ukrainian national team won 34 medals, including 12 gold medals, at the Invictus Games, which ended in Dusseldorf, Germany. This is the team’s best result in the competition. The Ukrainian team also won 14 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Ukrainians competed in nine sports: athletics, powerlifting, rowing, swimming, archery, cycling, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and table tennis, which made its debut in the Games program this year.
Ukrainians won awards in six sports. The best results – four gold and seven silver medals – were achieved in rowing, nine medals – three gold, silver and bronze each – were won in swimming, and Ukraine took three gold and two silver medals in archery.
“The Invictus Games is a sporting competition founded in 2014 for military personnel who were injured and disabled on the battlefield. Ukraine, which made its debut at the 2017 Games, was represented this year by 25 soldiers and veterans of the Armed Forces, National Guard, National Police and volunteer battalions.
