Ukraine to receive 45 more tanks from Denmark
The armored vehicles are part of the 5.8 billion Danish kroner support that the country allocated to Ukraine last week.
Denmark will provide Ukraine with 45 tanks – 15 modernized T-72EA tanks and 30 Leopard 1 tanks. This was stated by Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen during a meeting in the Ramstein format, Nyheder reported on Tuesday, September 19.
It is stated that this aid is part of the 5.8 billion Danish kroner (about $830 million) support that the country allocated to Ukraine last week.
So far, Denmark has already provided assistance to Ukraine worth DKK 11.2 billion (about USD 1.6 billion).
“The idea behind the transfer of 15 new T-72EA tanks to Ukraine is that, unlike the Leopard tanks that Denmark has already transferred to Ukraine, they can immediately become part of the Ukrainian armed forces,” the newspaper writes.
As a reminder, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands will jointly provide Ukraine with at least 100 Leopard 1 tanks.
On September 8, Denmark reported that the first 10 Leopard 1A5 tanks had already arrived in Ukraine. The rest of the vehicles are on the way.
