Ukraine was a bad host: the Hungarian minister talked about Russia’s victory in the war

According to the Hungarian politician, Russian imperial thought and expansion do not depend on systems and forms of government. He is sure that the sanctions imposed by the West against the Russian Federation did not work.

The head of the administration of the prime minister of Hungary, Gergey Guyász, said that Russia has such a large number of advantages over Ukraine that it could declare victory at any moment. Magyar Hirlap writes about it.

It is reported that the Hungarian politician made such a statement at the presentation of Geza Geche’s book ‘Russian Great Power Policy 1905-2021’.

According to Guyash, the sanctions policy against the Russian Federation did not live up to the West’s expectations, but only helped the aggressor. He noted that after 1990, Western Europe believed that there were no obstacles to economic cooperation with Russia. According to him, the mistake is not that Europe bought energy resources from Russia, but that there are no alternatives to them today.

In addition, the politician said that Russian imperial thought and expansion do not depend on systems and forms of government. European politics is now determined by the answer to the question of how far these imperial ambitions extend.

At the same time, as Guijas said, it is very important and beneficial for Budapest’s national security strategy to have a country between Russia and Hungary. However, in his opinion, Ukraine treated national minorities badly. In particular, with Hungarians in Transcarpathia.

‘Ukraine has been a bad host for national minorities, even if the root cause of the anti-rights policy was the Russian minority,’ he said.

Earlier it became known that the European Parliament adopted a report criticizing Orban. Hungarian authorities do not adhere to EU values, and are also unable to ensure the independence of courts and respect for human rights, parliamentarians believe.

We will remind you that Hungary may leave the European Union. The Czech Republic, which now dominates the EU, said that Hungary had come a long way before finding itself in a difficult position. Currently, the country’s government is facing a very difficult choice.
