Ukrainian car insurance “Green Card” will no longer operate in Russia and Belarus
In connection with the armed aggression on the part of Russia and Belarus, the general meeting of full members of the MTIBU decided to terminate bilateral agreements (Procedural Rules) with the National Bureaus of these countries on mutual recognition of Green Card insurance certificates.
Due to the above, from 00 o’clock. 00 min On April 5, 2022, any Green Card insurance certificates issued by Russian or Belarusian insurance companies considered invalid on the territory of Ukraine, and vehicles, without the relevant Ukrainian compulsory civil liability insurance policy, are unsecured (uninsured).
In addition, from this date, all Ukrainian agreements of international insurance “Green Card” in Russia and Belarus will be terminated.
Insurers-full members of the MTIBU are prohibited from concluding international insurance agreements “Green Card”, the validity of which extends to the territory of Russia or Belarus.
