Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners shoot down Russian missiles from American Avenger air defense system (video)
Soldiers from the 1129th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment demonstrated the process of engaging Russian cruise missiles using the AN/TWQ-1 Avenger air defense system.
In the video, Ukrainian soldiers show the screen of an anti-aircraft missile system: an enemy cruise missile is displayed in night vision mode, and the anti-aircraft gunners are aiming at it.
A soldier with the call sign “Driver,” when asked how he feels after shooting down a Russian air target, says: “I want more”.
Back in June, the Ukrainian military explained how they work with the Avenger: after receiving an order, the mobile system moves out, deploys, and waits for enemy targets in combat readiness.
The system is armed with a movable turret that carries Stinger missile launchers. They shoot down the occupiers’ cruise missiles.
