Ukrainian Armed Forces deliver an effective missile strike on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol (photo)
The strike on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was caused by cruise missiles that broke through the dense air defense system and smoke screens
The Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a precision missile strike on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the still-occupied Sevastopol. The fact of an effective attack is confirmed not only by numerous photos and videos, but even by the local occupation authorities.
The missile strike approximately took place at 13:10, with the enemy noticing the threat in advance and starting to create smoke screens in the bay. Also, anti-aircraft missile systems were launched from the area of the Belbek airfield near Sevastopol. Nevertheless, the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was hit.
At the same time, the issue of the number of hits has not yet been resolved at the time of publication. However, we can confidently say that one of the strikes hit the side of the building, causing the floor to partially collapse.
A fire also broke out inside the building. Although it is reported that dozens of ambulances and rescuers were sent to the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, the video from the scene does not show their activity.
The strike is also interesting because local gauleiter Rozvozhayev reported about an hour before the strike that “planned small arms firing” would take place in Sevastopol from 12:00 to 13:00. And at 13:20 he reported a strike on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
This is also not the first attack on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. And the first time it happened was on July 31, 2022, when a kamikaze drone was used for the strike. The attack was repeated on August 20, when a Chinese civilian Mugin-5 PRO UAV converted into a missile hit the building again.
But now it is quite possible that a single cruise missile attack will be enough to stop the use of this central command post by the Russian military, whose losses are still to be determined. It should also be noted that the reserve command post of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Verkhnyosadovoye was effectively attacked on September 20.
