Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrate combat performance of “Strela-10” SAM against Russian “Orlan” reconnaissance drone

The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Orlan drone. For this purpose, the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system was used.

The Strela-10 air defense system is designed to destroy air threats at low altitudes. The anti-aircraft missile system can shoot down targets at an altitude of up to 3,500 meters and at a range of up to 5,000 meters.

The video demonstrates the launch of anti-aircraft guided missiles at a Russian Orlan unmanned aerial vehicle. Most often, Russians use Orlan-10 drones for reconnaissance, but sometimes they are armed with bombs. For example, at the beginning of the year, a UAV carrying two containers for four 40-mm bombs was shot down.

Orlan-30 drones are much less common. They can conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, and fire adjustment. The UAV can climb to an altitude of 5 km and reach speeds of up to 170 km. The range is 300 km.
