This week, soldiers of the 22nd Brigade published photos of the Biber tank paver. The tracked engineering equipment for the crossings was supplied by Germany.

Biber is designed for bridging over anti-tank ditches and narrow water obstacles. Recently, military engineers of this unit conducted training with a bridge paver. They were tasked with ensuring the passage of armored vehicles through a natural obstacle. The bridge was built by engineers in a few minutes.

In this regard, the commander of the engineering unit noted that Biber armored pavers can be used to cover terrain sections such as gorges and water bodies that are no more than 20 meters wide.

The Biber uses a Leopard 1 tank as its chassis. A bridge paving system was installed on the site of the tower. The latter consists of two 11-meter-long parts. A boom is used to lay the bridge.

The bridge itself is made of aluminum. It weighs 9.94 tons. The bridge is 4 meters wide and 22 meters long. It can withstand the passage of wheeled and tracked vehicles weighing up to 55 tons.
