Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrate the use of Croatian RAK-SA-12 missile systems
The press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine published photos of the combat use of RAK-SA-12 by border guards. These compact jet systems were donated by Croatia.
The footage shows an artillery crew of the RAK-SA-12 battery working on targets at specified coordinates. The photo shows the process of targeting MLRS, the removal of 128-mm M63 rockets from shipping containers, and their fitting with detonators.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine adopted Croatian-made missile systems in April of this year. They were shown to the general public on the Day of the Border Guard.
RAK-SA-12 was developed by engineers from the Croatian company Madlerd. They used the lighter Yugoslavian-made M-63 Plamen jet system as a basis. The range of the missile shells is 8.5 km. In addition to M63, the system can fire M91 rockets and their modifications. The weight of the explosive in the bomb is 2.5 kg. The artillery crew consists of five soldiers. It takes one and a half minutes to deploy the unit at a new location.
