Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy an expensive Russian R-330Zh “Zhytel” electronic warfare station – Tarnavsky
In the Tavria sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a highly expensive Russian electronic warfare station R-330Zh “Zhytel”, a total of 44 pieces of occupants’ equipment were destroyed.
This was reported by the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.
According to him, 44 pieces of invaders’ equipment were destroyed, including four tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, six artillery systems, one multiple rocket launcher, nine drones, 10 vehicles and one piece of special equipment of the occupiers. Also, 2 ammunition depots and another important enemy object were destroyed.
Over the last day, the occupants lost 323 people, in particular, two invaders surrendered, the commander noted.
The missile and artillery units of the direction’s defense forces performed 1,270 fire missions, Tarnavsky wrote.
During the day, the Russians carried out 13 air strikes, conducted 24 combat engagements and fired 915 artillery rounds, he said.
R-330Zh “Zhitel” is an automated obstacle course station created by the Russian company PROTEK and adopted by the occupying army.
The occupiers claim that the system is capable of..:
- automated detection, direction finding and analysis of radio signals in the operating frequency range;
- radio jamming of ground stations and satellite communication systems “INMARSAT” and “Iridium”, navigation equipment “NAVSTAR” (GPS) and GSM-900/1800 base stations;
- automated telecode exchange for synchronous direction finding of radio sources;
- automated exchange of information with the control center;
- automatic testing of equipment and fault detection;
- maintaining cartographic data displaying information about the detected radio sources.
