Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy another Russian T-80BV tank

The number of T-80BV tanks that the Russian army has lost in Ukraine is approaching three hundred. And we are talking about combat vehicles whose destruction and capture is confirmed by photographs and/or video.

In the picture above you can see one of the first tanks destroyed. The photo was taken in mid-June 2022. And here is a recent video showing the destruction of T-80BVs by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Donetsk Oblast.

The T-80 tank appeared in the mid-1970s. Almost 10 years later, it was upgraded to the T-80BV level in transit through the T-80B. The combat vehicle was equipped with dynamic protection “Contact”, a power plant with a capacity of 1100 horsepower and a 2A46M-1 gun.

In general, there are several serial modifications of the Soviet tank. The newest is the T-80BVM. It emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and with a margin of time to spare – in 2018. According to Oryx analysts, the Russian army has lost at least 79 T-80BVMs and at least three units of the 2022 model. We wrote about the destruction of one of these tanks a few days ago. He was eliminated with the help of a drone.
