Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy enemy ammunition depot on Kinburn Spit and two reconnaissance drones

The Armed Forces of Ukraine dealt a powerful blow to the Russian invaders on the Kinburn Spit. Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the Joint Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, announced this on March 22 during a telethon.

She noted that the consequences of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack for the invaders were significant. One enemy tank, two units of armored vehicles, and two reconnaissance drones were eliminated. The drones were used by the Russian occupiers to identify the positions of Ukrainian troops in order to strike later.

An observation post and an ammunition depot were also destroyed on the Kinburn Spit. The losses of the Russians will make life easier for the residents of Ochakiv and the nearest settlements in Mykolaiv region.

“It will be a little quieter in the Ochakiv direction for some time,” explained Humeniuk.

She emphasized that the counter-battery fighting is ongoing. Ukrainian units are doing their best to push the invaders as far as possible on the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson region. This will reduce the likelihood of the enemy using artillery against civilians in Mykolaiv region.

According to Humeniuk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have some results in this regard, although they do not always manage to accomplish the task as quickly as they would like.

As a reminder, on March 21, there were explosions in Dzhankoy. The General Staff stated that this would disrupt Russian logistics in southern Ukraine. The temporarily occupied city, which is located in Crimea, was one of the Russian hubs of the logistics route to Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. The Ukrainian military emphasized that the enemy will face significant problems in supplying groups in this location in the near future.

The “South” JFO also explained that the result of the counter-battery fight will be that Russian troops will not be able to advance further. Currently, the front line actually runs along the Dnipro River, so this natural water barrier is the main divider between the warring parties.
