Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy Russian Buk-M1-2 anti-aircraft missile system
The Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed the launcher of the Buk-M1-2 anti-aircraft missile system. The target was located in the south of Ukraine on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions.
An anti-aircraft missile system of the Russian army was detected by an unmanned aerial vehicle. Despite the fact that the Buk is designed to destroy aerial targets, including drones, it failed to hit a Ukrainian drone.

It has not yet been specified what weapons were used to destroy the anti-aircraft missile system. Judging by the effect of the damage, it is likely that a high-precision SMArt or BONUS 155 mm caliber munition was used. Under the right circumstances, such shells can destroy two targets at once.
Both munitions have two cluster warheads. They separate as they approach the target and fall from above. The SMArt 155 is lowered using a parachute system, while the 155 BONUS is equipped with wings. When attacking a target, the speed of the ammunition decreases.
