Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy Wagner PMC ammunition depot near Bakhmut (video)
According to Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar, the Defense Forces are preventing the enemy from performing combat missions and are taking active steps to eliminate the occupiers’ warehouses. All of this is happening against the backdrop of Prigozhin’s statements about “shell hunger.”
The Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to destroy the ammunition storage sites of the Wagner PMC in the direction of Bakhmut. This was stated by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar during a telethon on May 5.
According to her, Ukrainian defenders continue to put up strong resistance to the enemy in Donbas and conduct active assault operations.
This time, they managed to liquidate another ammunition depot belonging to the Wagner PMC fighters, all against the backdrop of Yevhen Prygozhyn’s statements about the shortage of shells.
“Our Defense Forces are not just putting up a strong resistance, but also preventing the enemy from accomplishing their tasks. They do not allow them to break through the defense. We also carry out active assault operations. Now there is news that our fighters have destroyed the ammunition storage sites of the Wagnerites,” the statement said.
At the same time, Hanna Malyar noted that Russians have a great propensity for symbolism, so the occupiers are likely to continue their attempts to capture the city of Bakhmut until May 9.
As a reminder, on May 5, the owner of the Wagner PMC, Yevhen Prigozhin, recorded a video in which he claimed that his fighters were going to leave the city of Bakhmut in Donbas on May 10, as they had no ammunition and the Russian Defense Ministry, headed by Sergei Shoig, was not fulfilling their demands.
Also on May 5, the spokesperson for the Eastern Group, Serhiy Cherevaty, noted that such statements by Russian individuals may have a different motive and may not be true. In particular, Yevgeny Prigozhin’s statement could be related to human hunger rather than ammunition “hunger”.
