Ukrainian troops make progress in the Bakhmut sector in heavy fighting with Russian occupation forces
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have seized the strategic initiative and are conducting offensive operations on a broad front in the Bakhmut sector, according to a morning report by the General Staff of Ukraine as of 06:00 on June 29.
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian troops continue to put pressure on Russian troops on the flanks near the city and drive the enemy out of the captured positions. The Russians are putting up a fierce fight, while the Ukrainian Defense Forces are succeeding in heavy fighting and gaining ground.
Denys Yaroslavsky, commander of one of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s units, told more details about the successes of our military in this area on the air of Radio Svoboda.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actually taking full control of Klishchiyivka. This is a strategic point from which offensive actions will begin directly to the south of Bakhmut,” Yaroslavsky said.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now monitoring everything that is happening in Bakhmut from the air around the clock. In addition, Yaroslavsky claims that there are also heavy battles for Berkhivka, in the north of Bakhmut.
“If Berkhivka and Klishchiyivka are fully controlled, these are two strategic heights from the north and south of Bakhmut, the city can be taken into an operational encirclement,” the military said.
Commander Syrskyi also speaks of successes in the Bakhmut sector, publishing footage of the 45th Airborne Brigade and 57th Separate Mechanized Brigade attacking Russian positions, noting that an enemy mortar “Vasylok” and a BC depot were destroyed in this area.
