Ukrainian Armed Forces liberate Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia and continue to move forward – Ministry of Defense

On Monday, August 28, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar confirmed the liberation of Robotyno village in Zaporizhzhia region by Ukrainian troops.

Defense forces, despite strong enemy resistance, continue to move southeast of the settlement, namely toward Novoprokopivka and Ocherevatove.

Malyar emphasized that the southern direction is the main one for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The enemy is on the defensive in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

The village of Robotyne, located in Zaporizhzhia region, was occupied by Russians in March 2022. It is located on the road between Orikhiv and occupied Tokmak, which are important logistics centers for the Russian army, giving the village a significant strategic importance. The liberation of Robotyno by the Ukrainian military allows them to secure control over this area, interrupt potential logistical routes for Russian forces and complicate their ability to maneuver and supply.

On August 22, it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the village of Robotyno in Zaporizhzhia and were evacuating the population.
