Ukrainian breakthrough in defense: ZIR Pro – a new thermal imaging surveillance system with neural networks and AI
Specialists have developed the ZIR Pro complex, which helps to detect the enemy. In addition to its technical characteristics, the system is unique in that it uses neural network and artificial intelligence technologies and can expand its potential due to its modularity. It is already being actively used by units of the Defense Forces.
According to Compass Engineering, in addition to video analytics, surveillance, and monitoring, the system can also be used to target air, surface, and ground targets. A high-quality optical sensor with a 50x zoom provides a high range of observation, and a thermal imaging camera with the latest generation of detectors allows you to see the enemy in adverse weather conditions on a variety of terrain. One of the latest results of the new development is the night detection of Shahed drones in difficult weather conditions at a distance of 7 kilometers.
“Drones are not the only solution for identifying manpower and equipment, so using the existing tactics of technological warfare, we decided to produce a thermal imaging system that will be more modern than the enemy’s means,” said Vitaliy Rozdobutko, director of Compass Engineering.
The specialists are currently modifying the existing components of the system and developing new solutions. They will improve the technical equipment of the military and enhance situational awareness on the battlefield.
The Defense Forces will improve the process of studying combat experience according to the NATO methodology.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stanislav Haider, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Volodymyr Koval and Head of the NGO “Military School “Boryviter” Orest Bilous signed a memorandum of partnership and cooperation. Through the study and implementation of experience (Lessons Learned methodology), the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces will have a better picture of the course of the war and the demands of the frontline, and will be able to make effective management decisions based on sound analytical data.
The NGO “Military School “Boryviter” will teach methodology and building of relevant processes that will enable the military and political leadership of the state to perform their functions based on real combat experience. The methodology is fully based on NATO principles.
