Ukrainian business to receive $2.5 million from USAID for development

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is launching a new funding cycle under the Competitive Economy of Ukraine program to support Ukrainian businesses. According to UNN, citing the press services of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the amount of grants is $2.5 million.

Grant support is open to small and medium-sized processing enterprises that can receive up to UAH 150 thousand. dollars for innovative development.

In total, 25 grants will be awarded within this cycle, the amount of which will range from 75 to 150 thousand UAH. dollars.

The grant program aims to help:

  • production of innovative products;
  • modernization of production;
  • reducing the use of manual labor while creating skilled jobs;
  • optimizing the use of resources;
  • import substitution in the Ukrainian market and/or export of Ukrainian products, filling the niches previously occupied by products from Russia and Belarus;
  • localization of production of goods needed for recovery.

Applications for participation in the grant program are accepted until December 15, 2023 (inclusive).

The USAID Competitive Economy Program actively supports startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This is done to increase their competitiveness in the national and international markets, as well as to create a favorable and transparent business environment. The program also provides Ukrainian companies with a chance to take advantage of international trade.
