Ukrainian company launches production of electric pickup trucks
The Ukrainian company LUAZ Motors has announced the launch of an electric pickup truck line. It will consist of City, Farmer, and Cargo models.
LUAZ City will be offered for purchase for USD 16,000. Thus, the cost of the pickup truck is comparable to the Skoda Octavia or Volkswagen Passat of the 2018 model range. The LUAZ brand is not directly related to the Luaz automobile plant in Lutsk. It belongs to the Luaz Motors company.
It is worth noting that due to the modular design of the City, the battery pack will have to be purchased separately. The cost of the pickup without a battery will be UAH 280,000. For an additional battery, you will have to pay another 45,000 UAH. With a single battery, the pickup can cover 100 km. The car can be equipped with three batteries for UAH 135,000, which will increase its range to 300 km. It should be noted that the City is not intended for use on main roads.
The following options will be available to City buyers for an additional fee: a diesel heater (UAH 23,000), an inverter (UAH 23,000), and an air conditioning system (UAH 40,000).
The Farmer and Cargo models can be operated on public roads. They have a lifting capacity of 700-1000 kg. All three models are capable of reaching a speed of 50 km/h.
