Ukrainian development made in Poland: what is the Oncilla armored vehicle (photo)
Ukrainian defenders received Oncilla wheeled armored vehicles from Poland. But it is interesting that this equipment is very similar to the domestic Dozor-B armored personnel carrier. This is not just a coincidence, as Oncilla is a fully Ukrainian development.
The machine was developed by the Kharkiv Machine Building Design Bureau. Currently, the equipment is manufactured under legal license by a Polish company.
The Oncilla armored vehicle has many advantages over its counterparts: it is light, compact and roomy.
Oncilla has a level of protection with external additional passive armor (NATO Stanag 4569). The crew and troops are reliably protected from 7.62 mm small arms and mine and shell fragments. The armored vehicle also has a double mine-resistant floor.
The Oncilla is powered by an economical 190.5 hp KM Deutz BF 4M 1013FC engine or a 209.5 hp Iveco NEF 4 ENTC engine with automatic transmissions. The maximum acceleration of the vehicle is 120 km/h.
The armored vehicle has a standard 12.7 mm machine gun. The gunner can either stand in the hatch or sit on a suspended tarpaulin seat.
