Ukrainian engineers have created an EW-resistant tactical drone “Skipper” that has proven its effectiveness at the front (photo)

SpecAero engineers have created the Skipper tactical reconnaissance system, which consists of a ground station and two drones. The drone does not have a tail fin, it is not an airplane, but a monowing of the author’s design.

The advantages of the complex are its resistance to damage and excellent planning. It is aerodynamic, and with the engine turned off, the Skipper is able to plan. If the drone loses contact with the operator, it starts implementing the Return Home program automatically in a few seconds using the inertial system, magnetic compass, and general navigation.

The Skipper UAV is launched from a launch platform with a leyline attached to the complex. In addition, SpecAero necessarily offers and includes when purchasing a complex: training for the crew. According to the company’s CEO, this reduces drone losses caused by the pilot.

The drone can stay in the air for about 2 hours and fly up to 80 km. At a peak distance of 40 km from the operator, the engineers retained control, telemetry, and video signals.

“The Skipper was tested under the influence of electronic warfare – experts tried to jam the drone but failed. Remote antennas can be installed at a distance of about 30 meters to protect the operator.

The complex uses the proprietary F23 platform developed by SpecAero. The developers do not disclose the frequencies on which Skipper operates, but note that they are non-standard and protected.

In addition, the designers use technical navigation by triangulation, determine the location, object, and location of the board without GPS. As well as constantly improving the drone, they have implemented an analog video protection system. Unlike digital, analog communication can withstand interference, reduce picture quality, and deteriorate, but still continue to work.

The designers have already produced 10 systems, 6 of which are at the front. “According to the company’s CEO, Skipper has already proven its effectiveness. This is a working system.
