Ukrainian retail networks refuse Bonduelle products due to the supply of humanitarian aid for the Russian army
Supermarket chains Varus, Novus, “ATB” and Auchan decided to abandon the products of the French company Bonduelle due to information about the supply of canned vegetables to the Russian military.
This was reported by the press services of the stores on social networks.
The Varus network announced that it was withdrawing Bonduelle products from sale.
“Despite Bonduelle’s refutation of the information regarding the support of the Russian army, the company continues to operate in the market of the aggressor country. Therefore, the Varus company stops the sale of Bonduelle products,” the message says.
At the same time, Novus is withdrawing from sale not only Bonduelle products, but also Greenfield (tea), whose production and owners are linked to the Russian Federation.
“For known reasons, we are removing TM Bonduelle and Greenfield products from the shelves of Novus. Well, giving up the brand is a reason to get to know Ukrainian producers who make high-quality and tasty products,” the company emphasized.
In addition, from January 4, the “ATB” network also stopped purchasing Bonduelle products.
“As of January 4, 2023, the purchase of products of this brand has been stopped. If you can still see something on the shelves, it is the resale of the remaining items that were purchased by our network,” ATB noted.
The supermarket chain Auchan was not left behind.
“In connection with this situation, Auchan Ukraine has decided to remove Bonduelle brand products from the shelves. At the moment, our stores are implementing this decision,” the network said.
As you know, on January 5, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of Ukraine (NACP) called for the introduction of sanctions against the French manufacturer of frozen and canned vegetables Bonduelle due to the scandal with humanitarian aid for the Russian army.
In addition, according to NAZK, the company has already been included in the list of international war sponsors International War Sponsor. Companies caught in it are officially given the status of high-risk and subject to increased checks by Western banks and financial institutions.
