Ukrainians will be able to clear their cars via smartphone
In Ukraine, car owners will have the opportunity to clear transport using the mobile application and portal “Diia”. Currently, the authorities are preparing the legal framework and technically finalizing the service.
This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
According to the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, customs clearance of cars in a few clicks in Diia will make the service simple and anti-corruption.
The human factor will be completely excluded from the customs clearance process. Now the teams have prepared changes to the legislation.
“Customs collection will take place according to the new calculation system. Enter three characteristics in the calculator – the year of the car, the type or volume of the engine or power, if you have an electric car. Next, the system will automatically calculate the cost of the car. For example, you have a 2006 Audi A3. On diesel and with an engine volume of 2 liters. According to the new rules, you will pay UAH 80,132, instead of UAH 143,500,” the minister explained.
Currently, the car customs clearance service in Diia is still under development, but the developers assure that it will be simple and clear.
In order to clear the car through customs on your smartphone, you will need to take three steps:
- Fill out the customs declaration in “Actions” (Diia) – enter the VIN code of the car you want to clear (some fields will be automatically filled in, and some must be filled in);
- Pay customs payments – based on the declaration data, the amount of customs payments will be calculated automatically, you only need to pay it in “Actions” (Diia) by specifying your bank card details);
- Pass customs control — present the car to the customs authority, have a phone/tablet with “Diia” and Internet access, digital passport (foreign or ID card), bank card for payment, original documents: passport, tax number, contract about the purchase of a car, technical passport, a document confirming the fact that the car has been deregistered in the country of registration, etc.).
