Unknown objects found at Zaporizhzhia NPP reactor – satellite images

Earlier, the Ukrainian side warned that the Russians were preparing a provocation at the ZNPP. In particular, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the occupiers had placed objects similar to explosives on the roofs of the power units.

Satellite images from Planet Labs, taken on July 5, have been posted online. They show unidentified objects on the roofs of Zaporizhzhia NPP units, which were previously reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The footage was published on Radio Liberty’s Telegram on July 6.

It should be noted that the images probably show the fourth power unit of ZNPP, which has never been seen before. Meanwhile, it is difficult to determine what exactly is located on the roofs of the reactors, the authors write.

“They were discovered by our Schemes project and the Russian service of Radio Liberty in photos taken on the morning of July 5 and published by Planet Labs. The resolution of the image does not allow us to understand what exactly appeared on the roof,” the comments under the photos read.

Earlier it was reported that, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian occupants are preparing a provocation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. On July 4, the agency’s press service reported that the Russians had placed objects similar to explosive devices on the roofs of the plant’s power units 3 and 4.

Meanwhile, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, said on July 5 that the risk of an artificial man-made disaster at the Zaporizhzhia NPP was gradually decreasing. According to him, the Ukrainian special services are “taking certain actions” to achieve this.
