US Air Force tests XQ-58A Valkyrie artificial intelligence attack drone
Another test of an aerial platform with artificial intelligence took place in the United States. Currently, the Research Laboratory has tested the XQ-58A Valkyrie drone.
The UAV was developed by Kratos Defense & Security Solutions. The manufacturer has agreed with Shield AI to integrate artificial intelligence and bring the XQ-58A Valkyrie to the market.
The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory has published a large press release that does not carry any meaning and is full of generalities. For example, that the tests tested components that reduce risks for large unmanned systems.
Earlier, Kratos said that if at least 100 drones are produced per year, the cost of the Valkyrie will be less than $2 million. At the same time, in small-scale production, one unmanned aerial vehicle will cost $6.5 million.
This year, the company handed over the XQ-58A Valkyrie to the US Marine Corps. The military service will use drones with manned fifth-generation F-35B and F-35C Lightning II fighters as a platform for electronic warfare.
