US nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine arrives in the Middle East

On Sunday, November 5, a US nuclear submarine arrived in the area of responsibility of the US Central Command for the Middle East.

This was reported on Twitter by the US Central Command.

“On November 5, 2023, the Ohio-class submarine arrived in the area of responsibility of the US Central Command,” the statement said.

According to CNN, the Ohio-class submarine is currently moving through the Suez Canal toward the Red Sea.

I would like to point out that the military rarely reports on the movements of nuclear submarines with ballistic missiles. Such vessels usually operate in complete secrecy.

“The public announcement of the submarine’s movements in the Middle East is a clear signal of deterrence aimed at Iran and its proxies in the region, the US TV channel said,” CNN added.

Thus, the nuclear submarine, whose name has not been disclosed, joined a number of other US Navy facilities already in the region.
