VERA-NG radar stations are coming to Ukraine (video)

The Dutch government has allocated EUR 150 million for the purchase of four VERA-NG radars. They will contribute to strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system.

During the meeting of the UDCG members, an announcement will be made on the allocation of EUR 40 million for the purchase of air defense equipment. They will be delivered to Ukraine in the near future.

VERA-NG was designed by ERA specialists. It is an advanced and modern passive surveillance system. Radar is used to detect, identify and track air, sea and land targets. The VERA-NG system includes three radiation signal receivers. The command post with the station is located in the center. Air defense posts receive information about detected targets (coordinates, range, altitude and azimuth) from radar.

The VERA-NG system can detect targets at a distance of up to 400 km. The detection accuracy is 20 meters. It can simultaneously track up to 200 targets. Information about them is updated at intervals of 1-5 seconds.

The radar station does not emit electromagnetic energy. Thus, it is “invisible” to the enemy.
