VoloConnect air taxi successfully completed the first test flight
The German company Volocopter reported on the successful completion of the debut test flight of the electric air taxi VoloConnect.
The first test took place in May. During the tests, the air taxi performed several maneuvers. The flight lasted 134 seconds. The manufacturer claims that a prototype air taxi with operational and aerodynamic parameters of the future commercial version of VoloConnect was used for testing.
Vehicles can reach speeds of 64 km / h forward and 45 km / h when sideways. In the basic version, the taxi is equipped with six rotors that allow you to take off and land vertically. Fixed wings and two more electric rotors are provided for direct flight.
The commercial version of VoloConnect will be able to carry four passengers at speeds up to 250 km/h. The maximum range will be 100 km. The air taxi is expected to be launched in 2026.
